Trump launches Gold Eagle AI cybersecurity clearinghouse to enhance vulnerability coordination

The White House just stood up a new federal clearinghouse designed to handle the firehose of software vulnerabilities that AI tools are now uncovering faster than humans can fix them. It’s called Gold Eagle, and it went live on July 2 after President Trump signed Executive Order 14409 on June 2, 2026, giving the government exactly 30 days to get it operational. The public launch was announced on July 14, with the Treasury Department taking the lead alongside the National Cyber Director, the NSA, and CISA. The core mission: eliminate redundancy in vulnerability scanning, validate findings, and get patches distributed faster than the current patchwork system allows.
