NVent doubles liquid cooling capacity as AI data centers ditch air for water

nVent Electric is building a 117,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Blaine, Minnesota, dedicated entirely to producing liquid cooling systems for data centers. The move doubles the company’s liquid cooling manufacturing capacity. Modern AI chips, particularly NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform, generate so much heat that air simply can’t carry it away fast enough. Liquid cooling offers heat-transfer efficiency reportedly 3,500 times greater than air cooling, enabling data centers to pack far more compute power into a single rack. Liquid cooling penetration in data centers is projected to jump from roughly 10% in 2024 to over 20% by 2025. The data center liquid cooling market is projected to grow from $4.07B in 2026 to $27.65B by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate of 31.5%. The Blaine facility was announced on September 3, 2025, and began operations in early 2026. By the end of April 2026, it had fully doubled nVent’s liquid cooling production capacity.
