Napoli completes signing of Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea on loan with buy option

SSC Napoli have wrapped up a deal to bring Chelsea centre-back Benoît Badiashile to Naples on a season-long loan. The French defender has completed his medical and put pen to paper, ending months of speculation about where he’d land after falling out of favor in west London. The agreement includes a loan fee estimated at €3-4 million, a buy option set at €27 million, and Napoli’s commitment to covering Badiashile’s full salary for the duration of the loan. For a player Chelsea bought for €38 million from Monaco in January 2023, that buy option represents a significant markdown, roughly 29% less than what the Blues originally paid.
