Micron Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of memory chip giant Micron Technology, is putting fresh capital to work in the AI space with a fund targeting investments in emerging artificial intelligence technologies. The move comes as Micron positions itself at the intersection of two colliding forces: the explosion in AI compute demand and the semiconductor hardware that makes it all possible. Micron’s venture playbook Micron Ventures has been operating a $300M fund focused on early-stage deep tech founders working across sustainable computing infrastructure, advanced AI, and machine learning solutions. The portfolio already reads like a who’s who of enterprise AI infrastructure. It includes SambaNova Systems, a company building purpose-built AI hardware and software platforms, along with Weka, which specializes in high-performance data platforms.
