Anthropic wants to go public. Its paperwork reveals who actually holds the keys to its future: a short list of chip and memory suppliers, most of them based in East Asia. The AI company filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on October 26, 2026. The filing targets a Nasdaq listing under the ticker “ANT.” Its risk section reads like a supply chain map. It names Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) as the leading producer of the advanced chips Anthropic relies on. It names SK hynix, Samsung Electronics and Micron Technology as key suppliers of high-bandwidth memory (HBM). That matters because frontier AI models run on compute, and compute runs on silicon. If those suppliers stumble, Anthropic’s capacity stumbles with them. What the filing actually says The core warning is simple. Anthropic says its suppliers might not keep pace with rising demand for chips. It also flags a competitive risk: rival AI developers could lock up manufacturing capacity first, which could make shortages worse. HBM is a big part of that bottleneck. Standard memory sits a short distance from a processor and feeds it data through a relatively narrow ...
