Anthropic partners with OpenEvidence to deliver medical AI to 100 countries

Anthropic and OpenEvidence are rolling out a free AI-powered clinical decision support tool across roughly 100 low- and middle-income countries. The goal is straightforward but wildly ambitious: give healthcare workers in some of the world’s most resource-strapped regions the kind of medical knowledge access that US clinicians already take for granted. The partnership pairs Anthropic’s AI models and backend infrastructure with OpenEvidence’s clinical platform, which has already proven it can operate at serious scale. In August 2026 alone, OpenEvidence logged 42 million consultations with US clinicians. Now, the companies want to replicate that kind of adoption in places like Uganda, Angola, Sudan, Haiti, and Mongolia. From pilot to global rollout This isn’t a cold launch. OpenEvidence ran pilot programs earlier in 2026 in Rwanda and Botswana, where 45 local clinicians, both doctors and nurses, tested the platform and provided feedback.
