ZywOo tops scoreboard on Overpass at IEM Cologne Major 2026

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut just reminded everyone why he’s considered one of the most dangerous players in Counter-Strike 2. The Team Vitality star put on a clinic during the Overpass map at the IEM Cologne Major 2026, posting a dominant stat line and leading his squad to a 2-1 series victory over FUT Esports.

ZywOo’s Overpass performance was absurd

ZywOo posted an average damage rating of 114 on Overpass, meaning he was dealing more damage per round than most players manage on their best days.

He also racked up two aces during the map. One of those came in a 3v5 situation, meaning his team was down two players and he still managed to eliminate every remaining opponent.

The series wasn’t all smooth sailing for Vitality. FUT Esports took the first map on Anubis, putting Vitality in a hole before ZywOo and company rallied back to win the final two maps and close out the series 2-1.

The match took place during the June 11-13 stretch of the tournament, which runs from June 2 through June 21 at Cologne, Germany’s Lanxess Arena.

Crypto’s quiet exit from the esports stage

The IEM Cologne Major 2026 has featured fewer crypto-related sponsorships compared to previous iterations, with no direct mentions of cryptocurrency, token, or blockchain-related integrations surfacing during match coverage.

Major esports events in 2021 and 2022 featured crypto prominently: teams carried exchange patches on their jerseys and tournament broadcasts featured crypto betting platform ads between rounds.
