Platform imposes 90-day revenue bans for unlabeled AI combat footage as content rules tighten.

X said creators who post AI-generated videos of armed conflict without clear disclosure will be suspended from the platform’s Creator Revenue Sharing Program for 90 days. Repeat violations will lead to permanent removal, Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, said in a post on the platform.

Bier said enforcement will use the platform’s Community Notes feature as well as metadata and other signals embedded in the content to identify violations.

“During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground,” Bier wrote in a post, noting that modern AI tools make it trivial to produce misleading material.

The update targets AI-generated combat content posted without disclosure amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. X expanded its disclosure policies to ensure misleading synthetic media does not undermine trust in information shared on its platform.

X’s Creator Revenue Sharing Program allows eligible users to earn income based on engagement metrics and subscription interactions. Under current monetization rules, creators must meet certain criteria, including verified status and engagement thresholds, to qualify for payouts tied to X Premium user engagement rather than traditional ad revenue.
