United States sanctions Autistici/Inventati for supporting far-left terrorism

The US State Department has designated Autistici/Inventati, an Italy-based technology collective known as A/I Collective, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the decision on August 26, targeting what the government describes as digital infrastructure enabling far-left violent extremism. The designation effectively cuts A/I Collective off from the US financial system. All transactions with the group are now prohibited under US jurisdiction, and any assets it holds within reach of American authorities are subject to immediate freezing. What is Autistici/Inventati Founded in 2001, A/I Collective operates as an activist-oriented tech provider offering encrypted communications tools, running its own email, web hosting, secure chat, and video conferencing platforms for users who want to stay off corporate grids. The collective reportedly manages roughly 16,000 mailboxes, hosts around 1,500 websites, maintains approximately 5,500 mailing lists, and supports some 10,000 blogs.
