Ukraine claims strike on Taneco refinery in Russia’s Tatarstan, hitting one of the country’s most advanced oil facilities

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces say they struck the TANECO oil refinery complex in Nizhnekamsk, deep in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan. The target sits more than 1,100 kilometers from the front line, making it one of the farthest-reaching drone operations Ukraine has publicly claimed during the conflict. TANECO, operated by Russian oil giant Tatneft, processes more than 16 million tons of crude oil annually with a refining depth of up to 99%, placing it among the most technologically sophisticated fuel-processing facilities in the country.
