Truflation reports US CPI at 2.11%, a full percentage point below official figures

There are two ways to measure inflation in America right now, and they produce very different answers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says prices are running at 3.5% year-over-year as of June 2026. Truflation, the decentralized data platform that pulls from tens of millions of real-time price points, says 2.11%. What Truflation actually measures, and why it differs The platform aggregates between 13 million and 35 million data points from 30 to over 70 data providers, updating its index daily. Its TruCPI-US reading of 2.11% was recorded on July 27, 2026, with a marginal daily uptick of just +0.01%. The methodological gap between the two systems is wide. The BLS uses a fixed basket of goods with weightings that are adjusted on a longer cycle. Truflation updated its annual CPI weightings for the US, Argentina, and UK indices in 2026, reflecting current consumer spending patterns more dynamically.
