Tether is best known for printing the world’s most-used stablecoin. Now the company wants to be known for something else entirely: building the infrastructure layer for private, on-device artificial intelligence. The latest move in that direction is QVAC SDK 0.16, released July 27, 2026. The new version adds image generation via Ideogram 4, synchronized video with audio through LTX-2, local execution of NVIDIA’s GR00T robotics model, and improvements to its OpenAI-compatible server designed to make coding agent integration smoother. In plain terms: developers can now generate images, produce video with synced audio, and run a robotics AI model, all from their own hardware, no cloud required. What QVAC actually is The toolkit is open-source under the Apache 2.0 license and works across multiple operating systems via Node.js. The SDK supports multimodal AI models covering text, vision, speech, and now robotics. It also leverages the Holepunch stack to enable peer-to-peer capabilities. QVAC launched in April 2026. Version 0.12.0 introduced TurboQuant on June 1, 2026. Version 0.15.0 arrived around mid-July 2026. CEO Paolo Ardoino has framed the entire initiative around what he calls a ...
