When you own more than 842,000 Bitcoin, selling a few thousand is the equivalent of finding loose change in your couch cushions. That’s essentially the message from Strategy Inc. CEO Phong Le, who addressed the company’s recent Bitcoin sales by arguing they had zero meaningful impact on the market. Le described the transactions as routine capital management, not distress signals. For a company that holds over 4% of Bitcoin’s entire supply, the framing makes mathematical sense. The sales in question Strategy’s first Bitcoin sale since 2022 came in late May 2026, when the company offloaded 32 BTC for roughly $2.5 million. Le characterized this as a test sale, essentially a dry run to make sure the plumbing worked. Then came the real transaction. In June 2026, Strategy sold 3,588 BTC as part of what management called an operational strategy tied to broader capital-structure adjustments. To put that in perspective, 3,588 BTC represents roughly 0.4% of Strategy’s total holdings. Le called the amount “irrelevant” to market pricing discussions. Why sell at all?
