Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo says tokenization won’t go mainstream without non-crypto buyers

Carlos Domingo has a simple thesis about tokenization’s future: the crypto crowd alone can’t carry it. The Securitize CEO took the stage at the Avalanche Summit in New York City this week to make the case that real-world asset tokenization only scales if it attracts buyers who have never touched a hardware wallet. A company putting its own money where its mouth is Securitize went public on the New York Stock Exchange on July 2, 2026, trading under the ticker SECZ after completing a SPAC merger with Cantor Equity Partners II. That deal valued the firm at roughly $1.25 billion. Then it did something unusual for a freshly minted public company: it tokenized a portion of its own common shares, worth between $266 million and $295 million, on both Avalanche and Solana. The firm’s tokenized assets under management have been climbing sharply. Securitize crossed the $5 billion mark in the third quarter of 2026, up from just over $4 billion earlier in the year.
