Riot Platforms repays $200M credit facility, releases collateral

Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms this week repaid a $200 million credit facility from Coinbase Credit, releasing its collateral.The facility had been secured by a pledge of Riot’s financial assets, including Bitcoin, USDC and cash, which was held in the custody of Coinbase Custody Trust Company.Riot finished paying the remaining principal and interest on Monday, according to a Friday filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.No early termination fees or penalties were incurred by Riot in connection with the prepayment or termination.The miner has also continued to expand its data-center business, as Cointelegraph reported in August, when Riot Platforms secured a 20-year agreement to supply 191 megawatts of capacity from its Rockdale, Texas, campus to a “leading frontier AI” company.The customer was Anthropic and the deal was valued at about $9 billion, Bloomberg subsequently reported, citing people familiar with the matter.Cointelegraph reported in May that Riot Platforms posted $167.2 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, with its newly launched data center business contributing $33.2 million.Magazine: Big Questions: Does Satoshi actually own 1.1 million Bitcoi...
