QuickSwap, the decentralized exchange that built its reputation on Polygon, has crossed $600 million in cumulative trading volume on Base. The milestone, announced on August 24, marks a notable win for a protocol that’s been steadily colonizing new chains beyond its original home turf. The achievement didn’t come out of nowhere. Just four weeks earlier, on July 27, QuickSwap reported its all-time volume on Base was “approaching $600M.” That means the protocol pushed through the final stretch at a pace suggesting real, sustained user activity rather than a one-off spike. From Polygon to the blue chain QuickSwap launched in October 2020 as a Polygon-native DEX, and the network remains its primary venue. Total volume across all chains sits in the tens of billions, which means Base still represents a relatively small slice of the overall pie. Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 network built by Coinbase, has carved out a distinctive niche in DeFi by combining rock-bottom transaction costs with the built-in distribution channel of Coinbase’s massive user base.
