Quanta Computer seeks $2B in largest Taiwanese stock sale in 19 years

Quanta Computer, one of the world’s largest server manufacturers, just got board approval for a global depositary receipt offering that could raise between $2B and $2.7B. If the deal closes at the upper end, it would mark Taiwan’s biggest equity sale in nearly two decades. The board greenlit the capital increase on June 16, authorizing the issuance of up to 245 million new shares. For a company with a roughly $37B market cap, that’s a meaningful chunk of new equity hitting the market. What Quanta is actually buying with $2 billion Quanta plans to funnel the proceeds into expanding production capacity, specifically targeting the high-performance computing segment where demand has been running hot. The company started life in 1988 building notebook PCs and has since transformed into one of the most critical links in the global computing supply chain. In 2025, Quanta committed over $100M to a strategic partnership with Rigetti Computing, a player in superconducting quantum computing.
