Pro-crypto 501(c)(4) linked to Fairshake to launch national ads supporting the Clarity Act

A 501(c)(4) nonprofit linked to Fairshake, the crypto industry’s most well-funded super PAC network, is launching a national advertising campaign in support of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The Clarity Act, formally known as H.R. 3633, would create a federal regulatory framework for digital assets by drawing clear lines between the SEC and the CFTC. The bill also includes anti-money laundering provisions, a concession to lawmakers who worry that lighter-touch regulation could enable illicit finance. The money behind the message Fairshake and its affiliates spent between $130 million and $196 million during the 2024 election cycle. Its financial backers include Coinbase, Ripple Labs, and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). As of early-to-mid 2026, Fairshake entities held substantial cash reserves ranging from $122 million to $193 million. The decision to use a 501(c)(4) for the ad campaign is worth noting. Unlike a super PAC, which must disclose its donors, a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization can run issue advocacy without revealing who’s writing the checks.
