Pedro Porro is close to finalizing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur that would keep the 26-year-old at the north London club until June 2031. The deal includes an option to extend through June 2032. As of June 14, 2026, no formal signing has been confirmed, though discussions are reported to be at the stage of nearing agreement.
From Sporting CP to Spurs cornerstone
Porro arrived at Tottenham from Sporting CP in June 2023 for a reported $40 million transfer fee. His previous deal was valued at approximately $22.1 million, which worked out to an average annual salary of roughly $4.42 million.
That original contract runs through 2028, meaning Spurs had two years of runway left before needing to worry about the leverage shifting toward the player.
The new terms would position Porro among Tottenham’s highest-paid players. Since arriving in north London, the Spanish right-back has been a regular starter, contributing goals and assists as a mainstay in the lineup.
Keeping the wolves at bay
Manchester City had reportedly been monitoring Porro’s situation, and the reported extension is seen as a strategic move to secure his future amid that external interest.
What this means for investors and the broader picture
Tottenham operates the $SPURS fan token on the Chiliz blockchain. These tokens function as fan engagement tools, giving holders access to polls, exclusive content, and other community-driven features.
From a pure footballing perspective, with the right-back position now settled for the long term, the club can redirect whatever budget might have been earmarked for a replacement toward other positions of need. The $40 million Tottenham paid for Porro in 2023 now looks favorable, and locking him down through at least 2031 ensures that if a club does come calling in the future, Spurs will be negotiating from a position of strength rather than scrambling to avoid losing a player on a free.
