PaleBlueDot AI seeks $600M private credit from Brookfield to fuel South Korea chip buying spree

A Silicon Valley AI infrastructure company founded just last year wants $600 million in private credit to buy chips for a new facility in South Korea. The potential lender: Brookfield Asset Management, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers. PaleBlueDot AI, headquartered in Palo Alto, is in active negotiations for the financing, which would fund GPU purchases destined for a South Korean site. The chips would support operations for Xiaohongshu, the Chinese lifestyle and social commerce platform sometimes called RedNote, which has been rapidly scaling its AI capabilities. A startup moving at venture warp speed The company closed a $150 million Series B round in January 2026, pushing its valuation above $1 billion. Then in July 2026, PaleBlueDot closed a $255 million GPU-backed private note with Brookfield and Tor Investment Management. That deal essentially turned the company’s existing chip inventory into collateral. The $600 million facility would represent the company’s biggest single financing event by a wide margin, more than double the size of its previous GPU-backed note.
