More than 1 million Americans have now contacted their US senators in support of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a grassroots mobilization driven in large part by organizations like Stand With Crypto. What the CLARITY Act actually does The CLARITY Act, formally known as H.R. 3633, was introduced on May 29, 2025, by Rep. J. French Hill. Its core mission is to delineate regulatory authority between the CFTC and the SEC, replacing the current patchwork of enforcement actions and guidance letters with actual legislation. The bill passed the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote on May 14, 2026. A revised version of the bill, running 616 pages, was released on July 22, 2026. The updated text added ethics rules and a sunset provision set for 2029, meaning Congress would need to revisit and reauthorize the framework before the decade is out.
