OpenAI plans 20 launches at DevDay, credits Astra for productivity boost

OpenAI is about to turn its annual developer conference into a product blitz. Tibo Sottiaux, an executive at the company, revealed that GPT-6 Astra enabled such a leap in internal productivity that the team is rolling out 20 product launches at DevDay, scheduled for September 29 in San Francisco. Among the launches: Images 2.5 and ChatGPT for Financial Services. The rest of the lineup will unfold across 22 sessions covering new tools, agents, and workflows, capped off by a keynote from Sam Altman. Astra as the engine behind the sprint GPT-6 Astra launched on September 3 and quickly established itself as OpenAI’s most capable model to date. It scored a perfect 100% on ExploitBench, a cybersecurity vulnerability benchmark, and hit 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4, which tests advanced mathematical reasoning. Sottiaux’s September 24 tweet framed Astra not as a research milestone but as a workhorse.
