Nvidia is back on top. The GPU giant’s market capitalization has once again surpassed Apple’s, reclaiming its position as the most valuable public company on the planet. A month of trading places The back-and-forth started on July 17, when Apple momentarily seized the crown with an estimated market cap of roughly $4.88 trillion compared to Nvidia’s $4.86 trillion. That marked Apple’s first time atop the rankings since April 2025. Then on July 27, Apple widened its lead after Nvidia shares dropped approximately 5% in a single session. Apple closed that day as the world’s most valuable firm with a valuation estimated between $4.9 and $4.95 trillion. As of late July, Nvidia’s market cap sat around $4.72 trillion, and the company has now pushed back ahead of Apple to reclaim the top ranking.
