Nvidia becomes most actively traded stock in the US

Nvidia doesn’t just make the chips powering the AI revolution. It has also become the single most traded stock in the entire US equity market, commanding 3.0% of total notional trading volume year-to-date, according to Goldman Sachs. To put that in perspective, there are roughly 4,000 stocks listed on US exchanges. One of them is eating 3 cents of every dollar traded. The numbers behind the dominance Goldman Sachs data shows Nvidia sitting comfortably atop the leaderboard, ahead of Micron at 2.8% and Tesla at 2.1% of total market notional volume. The top ten most-traded stocks collectively account for about 16.4% of all trading activity. Nvidia has regularly exceeded 100 million shares in daily trading volume. The company’s share price has recently oscillated between $217 and $224, and its market capitalization now approaches a staggering $5.4 trillion. Yet despite all this frenetic trading activity, Nvidia’s stock price has remained relatively flat for most of 2026.
