A company that spun out of a crypto mining operation two years ago just filed to go public with a $103 billion contracted revenue backlog. Nscale, a UK-based AI infrastructure provider, submitted its S-1 registration to the SEC on September 18, seeking a NYSE listing under the ticker NSCL. Revenue for the first half of 2026 hit $140.6 million, a 1,252% jump from the $10.4 million the company pulled in during the same period a year earlier. The net loss for that stretch: $1.02 billion. The numbers behind the neocloud gold rush Nscale operates a vertically integrated model, owning or contracting data centers across the US and Europe, managing the power supply, the GPU fleets, and the software layer that ties it all together. As of late August, Nscale had roughly 461,000 GPUs either active or under contract, with a power pipeline exceeding 10 gigawatts spread across 14 regions. The contracted revenue backlog stands at $103 billion, with an average contract length of 5.7 years. The single largest contributor to that backlog is Anthropic, the AI safety company behind Claude, which has a contract valued at approximately $45 billion.
