Northern Trust, one of the largest asset custodians on the planet, is teaming up with crypto data firm Lukka to overhaul how its institutional clients track and report digital asset holdings. The partnership integrates Lukka’s data normalization platform directly into Northern Trust’s servicing stack, giving clients a single pane of glass across a sprawling universe of blockchains, exchanges, and custodians. For a firm sitting on $20 trillion in assets under custody as of June 30, 2026, the move is less about dipping a toe into crypto and more about building the plumbing that makes institutional-scale digital asset management actually work. What the integration actually does Lukka’s platform ingests raw transaction data from custodians, OTC desks, digital wallets, and both centralized and decentralized exchanges, then standardizes it into audit-ready reporting.
