MoonPay unveils Paybox, a universal AI shopping wallet for consumers

MoonPay just launched what it calls the missing piece of the AI shopping puzzle. Paybox, announced on July 23, is a wallet tool that plugs directly into AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT, giving them the ability to do something they’ve never reliably done before: spend your money. How Paybox actually works Users connect Paybox to their preferred AI agent, fund it with a bank account or crypto assets, and then issue plain-language commands. “Book me a flight to Tokyo next Thursday” or “order that standing desk from Amazon” become executable instructions rather than polite suggestions from a chatbot. The tool handles a surprisingly wide range of transactions. Amazon purchases, flight bookings through Brij, restaurant reservations via Resy. It’s positioned less as a crypto-native product and more as a universal commerce layer that happens to accept crypto alongside traditional payment methods.
