Vietnamese crypto users just got a significantly cheaper on-ramp. MetaMask wallets can now be funded directly through VietQR, the country’s dominant QR payment standard, via payment processor Banxa. In a market where card-based crypto purchases typically cost around 7% in fees, this is the kind of infrastructure upgrade that actually moves the needle. The integration leverages NAPAS, Vietnam’s national payment network, which already processes roughly 15 million transfers daily. Instead of pulling out a credit card and eating a painful surcharge, Vietnamese users can now buy crypto the same way they pay for coffee or split a dinner tab. The fee math that matters Consider someone putting $1,000 into their MetaMask wallet through a traditional card payment. That’s $70 gone before a single trade happens. During a promotional period running from July 20 to August 20, 2026, select wallets like Bitget are offering 0% fees on VietQR-funded transactions.
