Mecka AI, a two-year-old startup building infrastructure for human motion data, is reportedly closing in on a $500 million valuation as a new funding round takes shape. The raise would come just months after the company completed its Series A, signaling unusually fast momentum in a sector that investors are increasingly treating as foundational to the robotics age. The company’s pitch is straightforward: robots can only be as good as the data they train on, and most of that data today is either synthetic or collected through clunky remote-control methods. Mecka wants to fix that by capturing how real humans actually move through the world. What Mecka actually does Mecka’s flagship product is a dataset called Egoverse, which collects first-person human activity data using custom sensors and iPhones. The idea is to record natural, unscripted movement rather than the stilted, choreographed motions that come out of teleoperation setups. Robotics labs, frontier model teams, and enterprise customers have been signing on to use Egoverse as a training resource for robotic policies. On the strength of those contracts, the company projects an annual recurring revenue run rate of $100 million...
