Marathon Digital Holdings, the publicly listed Bitcoin miner known by its ticker MARA, picked up 1,292 BTC for roughly $98.6 million, working out to about $76,347 per coin. The purchase was executed through FalconX, an institutional prime broker, and surfaced via on-chain analytics from Lookonchain before any formal company announcement. The timing matters. MARA spent the first quarter of 2026 offloading a substantial portion of its Bitcoin reserves, selling approximately 20,880 BTC for around $1.5 billion. The company channeled proceeds toward operational expenses, liquidity management, and a strategic push into artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
