LOUD signs David ‘DaviH’ Cruz as initiator for VCT Americas Stage 2

Brazilian esports giant LOUD has locked in its roster for VCT Americas Stage 2 by signing Portuguese player David “DaviH” Cruz to fill the initiator role. The move, which involved a buyout from European organization CGN Esports, gives LOUD a fresh tactical dimension as the team chases a spot at VALORANT Champions in Shanghai later this year.

The signing landed just as Stage 2 kicked off on July 16, 2026. The stage runs through September 6, giving LOUD roughly seven weeks to prove the roster gamble pays off.

What LOUD is building

DaviH slots into a finalized five-player lineup that now reads: tkzin on duelist, erde as IGL and flex, DaviH on initiator, Darker, and lukxo. It’s a roster that blends Brazilian firepower with European competitive experience, a combination LOUD is betting will translate into results in the Americas region.

The 23-year-old Cruz, born January 28, 2003, previously competed with CGN Esports and SAW, building his reputation in the European VALORANT circuit. He’s known for piloting agents like Sova, the kind of information-gathering role that can quietly dictate the pace of a round without ever topping the scoreboard.

Reports of DaviH’s pending transfer first surfaced in mid-June, so this wasn’t exactly a surprise. But the formal confirmation and buyout completion means he won’t be returning to VCL EMEA. His competitive future is now firmly rooted in the Americas league.

Why this matters for LOUD’s championship ambitions

Stage 2 isn’t just another set of matches on the calendar. It’s the stretch where teams either solidify their path to VALORANT Champions Shanghai or watch their season slip away.

LOUD has historically been one of the most recognizable brands in Brazilian esports. Founded in 2019, the organization secured the VALORANT Champions title in 2022, establishing themselves as a formidable force in the esports landscape.
