Kamino, the Solana-based lending and yield protocol, has finished a security review of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). Its conclusion is that CCIP is sound enough to underwrite cross-chain collateral risk. Assets moving through CCIP can now qualify for higher borrowing limits and better loan-to-value (LTV) ratios on Kamino. Kamino found that CCIP’s architecture offers a secure foundation for collateral that originates on, or travels across, other chains. Assets transferred or managed through CCIP can be assigned elevated supply caps, meaning Kamino will accept more of them as collateral. They can also receive improved LTV ratios, which determine how much a user can borrow against a given deposit. Kamino says these higher limits sit inside its existing risk framework, which already includes real-time monitoring and market-level controls. The review also highlighted CCIP’s core security properties, including what Kamino characterized as a track record of reliability and built-in safety features.
