JPMorgan pledges $750B for housing investment over the next decade

JPMorgan Chase just dropped a number that makes most crypto fundraising rounds look like pocket change. The banking giant committed $750 billion to US housing through 2035, a figure so large it roughly equals the entire market capitalization of Ethereum on a good day. The pledge, part of the bank’s broader American Dream Initiative, aims to produce, preserve, or retrofit more than one million affordable and workforce housing units across the country. It represents an increase of over $200 billion from the bank’s prior housing commitments. What JPMorgan is actually building The initiative isn’t limited to housing. JPMorgan’s American Dream Initiative, launched in late March 2026, also targets support for 10 million small businesses and plans to expand community banking with over 150 new Community Managers. The bank already has a track record to point to. Since 2021, JPMorgan Chase has created or preserved more than 435,000 affordable housing units and committed over $28 billion to finance such projects.
