JD Gaming, one of China’s most prominent esports organizations, has confirmed that Park “stew” Young-chan is no longer part of its Valorant roster. The Korean player’s departure was described as a mutual decision.
Stew originally joined JD Gaming on January 16, 2024, and his departure was announced on June 10, 2026. The timing of the move suggests JDG is reshuffling its competitive lineup ahead of VCT China Stage 2.
Born on March 18, 2005, stew is still just 21 years old. His time at JDG saw the organization continue its push into Riot Games’ tactical shooter after initially building its reputation in League of Legends.
JD Gaming was established in 2017 as part of JD.com’s broader expansion into digital entertainment. The organization’s League of Legends squad has historically been its flagship team, but its Valorant division has grown into a meaningful part of the brand’s competitive identity in recent years.
Here’s the thing: this is fundamentally an esports roster update. There are no blockchain elements, no token launches, and no crypto-adjacent business moves attached to stew’s departure. JD.com has explored blockchain technology in other parts of its business, particularly in supply chain management and logistics, but those initiatives exist in a completely separate universe from its esports operations.
