Hearts draw Fenerbahce or Sturm Graz in Champions League qualifying round

1 hour ago 2

Heart of Midlothian is back in the Champions League. For the first time in 20 years, the Edinburgh club has reached the second qualifying round of European football’s premier competition, and the draw has paired them with either Fenerbahce of Turkey or Sturm Graz of Austria.

Hearts earned their spot after finishing as runners-up in the Scottish Premiership. Hearts entered as an unseeded team in the League Path.

The draw took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on June 17. The two-legged ties are scheduled for July 21/22 (first leg) and July 28/29 (second leg).

Even if Hearts navigate this round successfully, they would need to win three qualifying rounds total to reach the Champions League league phase.
