Google joins the US government’s voluntary AI model review process

Google is participating in the US government’s voluntary review process for advanced AI models. Washington wants an early look at frontier systems before the public gets them, and Google has agreed to provide one. The key word is voluntary. Nobody is forcing Google to do this. Nobody could, at least not under this framework. How the review process works The framework comes from Executive Order 14409, which President Trump signed on June 2, 2026.
