The worst-kept secret in data center infrastructure now has a name. Google is the unnamed hyperscale customer behind Modine Manufacturing’s massive $4 billion-plus cooling equipment agreement, according to leaked internal data that surfaced on August 21. The deal, which Modine (NYSE: MOD) first announced in late May, covers the supply of its Airedale-branded data center cooling products from 2027 through 2029. When the company initially disclosed the contract, it kept the customer’s identity under wraps, describing them only as “an existing strategic hyperscaler.” The leaked data filled in the blanks, revealing plans for roughly 3,512 units of 3 MW chillers at approximately $1.2 million each, bringing the total contract value to around $4.214 billion.
