Glencore expects $3B trading profit amid Iran war volatility

Glencore just posted the kind of numbers that make other trading desks quietly close their Bloomberg terminals and stare at the ceiling. The Swiss commodities giant expects roughly $3 billion in profit from its Marketing segment for the first half of 2026, driven by extreme market volatility tied to a military conflict near the world’s most important oil chokepoint. The company disclosed the figure in its half-year production report on Wednesday. Its adjusted EBITDA hit $18.9 billion for the period, representing a 119% increase compared to the same stretch last year.
