As of mid-August 2026, both clubs are deep into negotiations but stuck on the financial mechanics of what would be one of the summer’s more significant young-talent transfers. What’s on the table Roma’s approach has centered on a loan-with-buy-option structure. Their recent proposals include a loan fee in the range of €5M to €8M, paired with a purchase option valued between €42M and €45M. Porto has been pushing for a total valuation around €50M. One structure that’s been floated would split that into two installments of €25M each: one this summer, one next summer.
