Exa plugin now available in Grok Build for agentic web search

Exa, the AI-native search company, just plugged its semantic search API into Grok Build, xAI’s coding agent and command line interface. The integration went live on July 24, giving developers and their AI assistants access to a web search layer built specifically for machines, not people. What Exa actually brings to the table Exa indexes over 50 million company pages, roughly 1 billion people profiles, and more than 100 million research papers and financial reports. Search responses come back in approximately 250 milliseconds, which is fast enough that a coding agent can query the web multiple times during a single task without meaningful delays. For Grok Build users, this means the agent can now pull company information, look up individuals, reference academic research, and scan financial documents without leaving the development environment. The plugin is available through the Grok Build marketplace or via the exa-grok-plugin GitHub repository.
