Ethereum remains the undisputed king of public token sales, pulling in $334 million so far in 2026 out of a total $1.42 billion raised across the entire crypto industry. Data from CryptoRank paints a picture of an ecosystem where public fundraising is becoming less relevant by the quarter. The numbers behind the decline The first quarter of 2026 was relatively robust. Around $390 million flowed into crypto projects across 105 public sales. Public sales in the second quarter generated just $40 million to $58 million across a mere 47 offerings. That made it the weakest quarter for public token sales in four years. The drop from Q1 to Q2 represents roughly an 85% decline in capital raised and a 55% reduction in the number of sales conducted. Ethereum’s $334 million lead is notable, but the broader ecosystem tells a similar story of contraction. BNB Chain, Base, Solana, and Sonic Labs round out the top fundraising platforms, collectively contributing to the $1.42 billion total.
