Federal agents arrested a California tech executive on Wednesday. Prosecutors accuse him of shipping more than $300 million in restricted AI chips to China. The man in question is Greg Lui, 38, CEO of Earthmade Computers. Lui, who also goes by Yiu Kong Lui, lives in San Gabriel. He now faces a stack of federal charges tied to US export laws. What prosecutors allege The core accusation is simple. Lui allegedly sold large quantities of American-made AI graphics processors to buyers in China, in violation of US law. The total value of the hardware allegedly diverted tops $300 million. Beijing is identified as the final destination for the products. Earthmade Computers works in the AI hardware reseller market. The company focuses on high-performance servers, including Super Micro systems. That puts it squarely in the supply chain for export-controlled components. The case is reportedly linked to a broader investigation into smuggling operations. Those operations have reportedly involved Nvidia’s advanced graphics processors.
