Cosmostation to shut down wallet services starting September 1

Cosmostation, one of the most widely used non-custodial wallets in the Cosmos ecosystem, announced on August 14 that it will discontinue wallet services across all platforms beginning September 1. The shutdown affects its iOS app, Android app, and Chrome browser extension. After September 1, users will only be able to export their recovery phrases and private keys. Every other wallet function will be gradually phased out, meaning anyone still holding assets through Cosmostation needs to act fast. A tight window for migration Because Cosmostation is a non-custodial wallet, user funds aren’t actually stored on the platform itself. They live on their respective blockchains, which means assets aren’t at risk of disappearing when the service goes dark. But that’s only reassuring if you’ve properly backed up your seed phrase or private key before the shutdown window closes. Cosmostation’s official statement offered little in the way of explanation, citing only “careful consideration” about the team’s future contributions to the interchain ecosystem.
