CoinGecko launches connector for live crypto data on Claude

CoinGecko just made it possible to ask Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, for live crypto market data the same way you’d ask a friend what Bitcoin is trading at. The difference: Claude now actually knows the answer in real time. The crypto data aggregator has launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that plugs directly into Claude, giving users access to live prices, market capitalizations, trading volumes, trending coins, exchange data, decentralized exchange pool information, and even NFT data. All through plain English questions, no API wrangling required. How the connector works Instead of copying and pasting from CoinGecko’s website or writing custom API calls, users can now type something like “what are the top trending coins right now” directly in a Claude conversation and get structured, real-time results. The setup process is straightforward. Users navigate to Settings, then Connectors inside Claude, and add the CoinGecko connector.
