Coinbase’s tokenized stocks are moving further into decentralized finance, with seven of the products now live as collateral on Aave V4 on Base. The products are available to eligible users outside the United States, while Chainlink provides the market data used to value the collateral onchain. The integration gives Coinbase’s recently launched tokenized equities a new use case beyond simply holding or trading them. Rather than selling the exposure, users can now borrow against the positions while keeping the underlying economic exposure to companies including Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft and Tesla. The tokens are issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., with the underlying shares held by Alpaca Securities LLC in segregated custody accounts.
