CLARITY Act Hits Final Stretch as Democrats Push Back Before Senate Vote

A Democratic counterproposal landed ahead of the Senate vote as lawmakers remained divided over ethics language and other CLARITY Act provisions. The latest stage of negotiations over the CLARITY Act has moved the bill toward a key vote while major disagreements remain. Senate Democrats sent Republicans their counterproposal late Monday after reviewing the newest Republican draft released a day earlier. Much of the disagreement centers on its revised ethics language.
