Chinese government warns AI advancements threaten political stability

China’s top intelligence official has sounded a public alarm about artificial intelligence in terms that go well beyond the usual “regulate responsibly” talking points. State security minister Chen Yixin, writing in the journal China Cyberspace, warned that rapid AI advances pose direct threats to national stability, critical infrastructure, and, notably, ideological control.
