Chainlink Opens CCIP 2.0 to Institutions With Configurable Speed

In the latest news, Chainlink said in a blog post dated Monday, 28 September, that its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0 is now available to institutions and digital-asset issuers. The upgrade adds an opt-in, faster-than-finality execution path for supported Ethereum-linked transfers. Chainlink’s own documentation says the default setting still waits for full source-chain finality. The faster path is an optional setting chosen by issuers, not a change to Ethereum’s consensus process. The appeal is simple. Stablecoin payments, liquidity moves, and tokenized assets often need to cross chains faster than today’s institutional settlement windows allow. Chainlink’s documentation says issuers can set confirmation rules based on transaction value and risk tolerance. Not every transfer has to wait on the same finality clock.
