Centrifuge flags transparency gap as only 29.2% of tokenized assets show verifiable onchain data

Tokenization was supposed to make finance radically transparent. Put the asset on a blockchain, and anyone can see what’s there. According to a recent report highlighted by Centrifuge, only 29.2% of tokenized asset value has verifiable onchain holdings data. Less than a third of the market can actually be checked on the ledger it lives on. Centrifuge, one of the more established platforms for bringing real-world assets onchain, is using that figure to make a pointed argument. Putting a token on a blockchain is not the same as proving what sits behind it. What Centrifuge is shipping The company announced its V3.2 product update on October 5, 2026. The headline feature is something it calls the Onchain Portfolio Manager. Cross-chain accounting, net asset value (NAV) calculations and trade execution now run through smart contracts rather than through offchain spreadsheets and intermediaries. The update brings smart-contract-based management to multi-asset vaults, including treasuries and equities.
