BNB tops Grayscale Smart Contract Fund at 30.6%

Grayscale Investments added BNB to its Smart Contract Fund during its second quarter review, placing the token above Ether and Solana in the portfolio as of Aug. 3. Summary BNB entered Grayscale’s Smart Contract Fund at 30.6%, surpassing Ether and Solana by portfolio weight. Ether retained 29.47%, while Solana held 29.15% after Grayscale’s second quarter rebalancing completed on August 3. Uniswap remained Grayscale’s largest DeFi holding at 34.16%, despite the fund reducing its UNI exposure. NEAR led the AI Fund at 31.35%, even after Grayscale sold part of its position. The funds rebalance quarterly under index methodologies, and published weightings may change after August 3. The U.S. asset manager assigned BNB a 30.6% weight, compared with 29.47% for Ether and 29.15% for Solana, according to its Aug. 5 release. The change made BNB the largest component immediately after its addition. However, the rebalance followed the CoinDesk Smart Contract Platform Select Capped Index methodology.
